Photo essay of a Rounded Personality Blog 4

For my photo essay I wanted to show my apartment, but I didn't want to simply show how messy our place is, but I wanted to simply show that beyond the clutter, and disorganization lies a personality, characteristics, and identity.  Through the use of the many different kinds of shots I tried to help portray the different but similar personalities we all have as roommates.  Some of the wider shots show the average characteristics that any typical male student would have.  For example the shot of our food storage representing that we love to eat and cook meals.  The shot of one of my roommates on his computer can illustrate the idea that we like to study, or spend countless times on the internet serving the web either on facebook, youtube, hulu etc.  This in turn shows that we as an apartment are involved in the digital media by way of these websites as just discussed.
In the photo of books and random stuff on the table really shows how rounded we all are.  Yes we lack some organization in our lives, but who doesn't really.  Who can say they have their life completely organized.  Also if examined closely one can take some of these items and come to a conclusion as to the personality of some of us who live here.  For example, there are text books, LDS books, and fantasy books which all shows that we are book worms, fantasy freaks and peter priesthood jocks.
Some of the close up shots I tried to resemble more of what we have in common and love most.  For example, the close up of the guitar.  We all play musical instruments, like the piano, guitar, ukulele, and even the maracas.  I like to play the maracas a lot.
These photos all are taken in one place, but with so much to record it really illustrates how rounded we all are as roommates.  We all have similar interests, but different backgrounds, different characteristics, opinions and traditions.  A photo essay can capture so much and tell a story that can be endless.  For what one person sees, another may see differently, and therefore so long as there is someone new to look at it, the story is as endless as forever.
