My original idea was to do the process of rock climbing with a focus on clipping the rope and preparing the safety equipment. However I am really pleased with how this idea turned out. Not only is it a process that I go through whenever I am about to call a girl, but it also tells a story about me, or at least tells you something about my personality. So much goes into calling a girl, first you have to find the place away from everyone else, then you have to work up the courage, pray, and for some reason stare at the phone for a few minutes. Sometimes it helps if you do a quick run though and try to anticipate how the conversation will go. I cannot believe how hard it is to finally press that call button, and when the phone actually starts to ring there is a sense of panic, because of course you have reached the point of no return. Sometimes it is a relief when the answering matching picks up because the moment is then past, but at the same time it is disappointing that she did not answer and you have to wonder if she could not or would not pick up. I believe that I am not alone in this process, and it is even probable that girls go through something similar when they have to call guys. I hope that you took the time to go through the pictures slowing in order to capture the anticipation and disappointment of calling girl. Something that I must confess is that this is a process that I sometimes go through even if I am not asking the girl out, perhaps I am just calling to talk to her. I really did enjoy putting these pictures together and hope that you enjoyed taking a look.
I can relate to this post. I have experienced this feeling and others like it. I liked how your story was focused on yourself but yet not "self-centered". I think that you could do a whole series of related events and they would all work well in the "photo essay" format. Possible sequels: Sending a Facebook friend request, asking a girl out (phone/text/face-to-face), sending an important email. Also, Nice Cosmo Kramer picture!
