Shannon

Podcast With Shannon (click here)

My project has several strengths and weaknesses. Since I am close to the subject of the podcast I was able to get a solid interview. She was comfortable and open with me and very willing to answer all my questions. It also seems to have a good flow. Some weaknesses are that, since I’ve never done a podcast before, the presentation of the content could have been perhaps more creative.

This assignment made me reflect on my views of religion and art, specifically with being a Mormon. I was able to realize that being Mormon affects my art (film) albeit indirectly. I try to follow what Brian Lefler talked about in the forum in regards to abstaining from playing to a Mormon audience, but even while doing that I still am affected by my beliefs.

Being a Mormon artist means being honest and true to the source material of your work. That means presenting what my art in an honest and sincere way, and not trying to trick my audience. I would not make something that goes against my beliefs or standards but always be true to who I am and what I believe in.
